How do I make a public file private again?
Send "visibility": "private" (or "inherit" in a private bucket) to PATCH …/objects/{object_id}/visibility, or choose Private in the Console.
- The link stops working on the next request: every request to the public hosts checks visibility first.
- An image's id is retired for good.
- Copies already in someone's browser are out of our reach: up to 60 seconds for files, longer for images (cached as immutable).
Deleting a public file also turns its link off.
