Why does Code Buckets want my code as a zip?

FAQUpdated

A zip packs a whole project folder into one file, which makes uploads simple and resumable. Code Buckets then:

  1. Stores the zip encrypted as an archive object.
  2. Unpacks it into the bucket's code tree (when preview is on) so you can browse files with syntax highlighting.

A new zip replaces the whole tree, or only one folder if you upload it with target_path. Other files (images, builds, videos) are stored as assets without unpacking.
