What is a ref?
Each version of a bucket's code tree has a ref, a 40-character hex id like 9b1f0c5e2a7d43e8b6c1f0a9d2e5b7c4a1f3e8d0.
bucket.code.refis the current version.code.updatedevents and backups record the ref they produced or captured.- Reading the tree or a file with
?ref=always returns the same content, so those responses are cached at the edge and come back in milliseconds.
Older refs stay readable, which is how you look at earlier versions of your code.
