What is a token in Clatter Labs pricing?

ExplainerUpdated

A token is a small piece of text, often a few letters or part of a word. Models read and write text as tokens.

  • Input tokens — everything you send: instructions, the chat so far, code and files in context. A short Clatter Labs instruction block is added to every Model API request and counts as input.
  • Output tokens — everything the model writes, including its reasoning.

Prices are per 1 million tokens. The usage field in each Model API response shows the exact counts.

Code Buckets "tokens" are a different unit (1 per request, plus 1 per MiB).
