Why does sign-in show a security check?

Our sign-up, sign-in and password reset forms are protected by an automated security check that tells people apart from bots (Privacy Policy, Section 9). Most of the time it runs in the background and you don't need to do anything.

It processes technical signals from your browser, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. It's not used for tracking or advertising.
